Cardinal Career Link is a job-vacancy database that helps you to identify the latest full-time job vacancies in your career field.

  • Attend drop-in advising.

Career Center staff are available to answer quick career and job-search questions. Drop-in Advising times are Monday through Wednesday, 1-3 p.m., and Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m.-noon.

Network with employers and learn about career opportunities with their organizations.

  • Participate in on-campus interviews.

More than 100 organizations visit the Career Center each year to conduct interviews for full-time employment. Registration and sign-ups are early in the fall and spring semesters. Visit Cardinal Career Link to sign up.

  • Research potential employers.

Use employer directories and company literature available in the Career and Experiential Learning Resource Lab, LU 235.  Make a list of your top prospects and contact them about career opportunities.

During the spring about 100 school districts from around the country interview teacher candidates at Ball State.  Call the Career Center for additional information.

  • Attend professional association meetings.

Expand your network with local or national professionals in your career area.  Contact professors in your department for more information.

  • Identify job vacancies through your networking contacts, professional associations, newspaper ads, the Web, and other sources.

  • Pick up a copy of The Job Search.

Visit the Career and Experiential Learning Resource Lab, LU 235, to pick up a career planning booklet containing information on résumé preparation, interviewing, and other aspects of conducting a job search.
