Medical Consultants - Process Improvement
Medical Consultants Process Improvements

Purpose

Improve the process for recording and entering provider charges for services performed outside the office to reduce claim denials and reduce the payment cycle.

Action

The team analyzed the current process, gathered information from stakeholders about the information they needed, and evaluated possible alternative solutions. They developed a proposal for a system that would gather and transmit the charge information electronically.

Results

The team produced a prototype for a Web site that could pull data from the hospital database to populate the demographic information for patients, then gather diagnoses and other information from doctors and send that data to the insurance coders in a fast, secure environment.
