Career Center
Job-Search Activities for Alumni
Here are some of the activities you should consider as you begin this process:

Register with the Career Center through Cardinal Career Link.

Conduct a self-inventory (or self-assessment) of your past work activities, likes, dislikes, values, and personal needs. What functional (transferable) skills do you have that may allow the transition to another career field?

Use the Career Center's Web site to learn more about careers and the job-search process as well as to find links to other valuable Web sites.

When in Muncie, research employers and career options in the Career Center's Career and Experiential Learning Lab, Lucina Hall 235.

Update your résumé (consider a functional résumé if you're making a major career change).

Develop a professional employment portfolio to demonstrate your experience during an interview. Identify people willing to serve as references for you.
