Eligibility
The Miss Ball State University Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant is open to any young woman who:
    Is between the ages of 13 and 17, who is not a graduating Senior;
    Is a United States Citizen;
    Is a resident of Delaware, Blackford, Jay, Randolph, Henry, Madison, or Grant County;
    Meets character criteria as set forth by the Miss America Organization;
    Is in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements;
    Is able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the Miss Ball
        State Program.
 
Informational Meetings
If you are a first time contestant, you are encouraged to attend one of the Informational meetings during the Fall Semester.
At the informational meeting you will receive a contract and other forms to be completed and returned in order to compete.
 
 

Miss Ball State Outstanding Teen Program Informational Meeting Dates
 

Thursday, September 4, 2008 - 5:00  -6:00 p.m. in Student Center 305

Wednesday, October 1, 2008 - 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. in Student Center 305

Tuesday, November 11, 2008 - 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. in Student Center 305

 

All contracts and program information must be submitted no later than 6:00 p.m. - Monday, December 8, 2008. 

*A Paperwork Turn-In Meeting will be held Monday, December 8th at 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the Student Center Forum Room (2nd floor).  A Notary will be available to notarize contracts.  Competition order may be selected if all participants can attend.


Contestants report to Emens Auditorium between 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. on the day of the pageant.

Interviews and rehearsals begin at 9:30 a.m. and the pageant begins at 5:00 p.m.

For the program book you will need to submit by the application deadline (December 8): 

    a head and shoulder photo (5x7 preferred, printed or digital, black & white or color);
    your name as you wish it printed;
    the school you attend;
    your year in school;
    your hometown;
    your platform title;
    your $100 sponsorship fee & list of your sponsors;
    and/or any advertisements you have sold
 
Each contestant must raise $100 in sponsorships and/or advertisement sales, due on the December 8, 2008 deadline.  Sponsorship Form

Clothing Needs

6 minute Private Interview with judges (no opening or closing)   Business/Interview Suit
90 second Talent Performance (music must be submitted on CD; no live accompaniment will be allowed)   Appropriate outfit to coordinate with talent presentation
Evening Wear   An after 5:00 formal dress, any length
Active Wear   No swimsuits!  Cheer shorts & tank top with appropriate athletic footwear
On-Stage Question (asked immediately after opening number; 1 pop culture question)  Opening number clothing (to be determined)
