Celebrating  twenty-five years of service

The Social Science Research Center (SSRC) is an interdisciplinary research program sponsored by the College of Sciences and Humanities at Ball State University. Established in 1981, the SSRC provides support to college faculty, other university personnel, and public or private organizations for the development and completion of externally funded social science research or service projects. The center also offers community organizations technical assistance in planning, research, and evaluation.

The SSRC staff can provide a variety of services, including the following:

  • Development of project designs
  • Development of proposal narratives and budgets
  • Development of research methodologies and selection of information gathering techniques.
  • Program development and planning
  • Questionnaire construction and formatting
  • Administration of surveys (telephone, mail-out or face to face)
  • Data processing
  • Focus group facilitation

The SSRC offers services at reasonable fees. Services are offered  on a contractual basis, depending upon the nature and scope of the request. Each request for service will be evaluated by the SSRC staff, and costs will be determined based upon the amount of service required to fulfill the project's needs.
