Master's DegreesThe master's programs in the Department of Special Education are designed to
- increase your competencies in remedial and corrective teaching of basic academic and special skills
- expand your understanding of the personal, psychological, social, educational, and vocational needs of persons with disabilities
- strengthen your assessment, diagnostic, prescriptive, and research skills
The department offers two master's degrees:
Master of Arts Program (MA)
Students with undergraduate majors in special education often select the master of arts in special education (MA) degree program to strengthen their bachelor's degree preparation or to acquire another area of special education licensure.
Master of Arts in Education Program (MAE)
Students with undergraduate degrees in elementary or secondary education usually pursue the master of arts in education (MAE) in special education program.
Earn Your Degree through Distance Education
The master of arts degree program is offered by distance education in some parts of Indiana.
