Speech Pathology and Audiology
Student Organizations
Joining the student organization of your discipline can help you

  • academically by adding to your classroom and clinical learning with discipline-specific activities
  • professionally by keeping you current on the latest news about your field as well as setting up networking practices and opportunities that may lead to internships and jobs
  • socially by hanging out with other students who have similar interests
  • financially through special savings for products or services

Our department has two student organizations:

National Association of Future Doctors of Audiology (NAFDA)
NAFDA is a student organization dedicated to the support of students pursuing the clinical doctorate in audiology, the Au.D.  Students enrolled in the doctor of audiology program are encouraged to join the national chapter and our local NAFDA chapter, which is active in community and educational events.

For information about our local group, contact the department at (765) 285-8161. You can also visit the NAFDA Web site at www.nafda.org.

National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA)
NSSLHA is a pre-professional membership association for students studying communication sciences and disorders. Whether you are an undergraduate or a graduate student, we encourage you to join the national group and our local NSSLHA.  The local group meets monthly to plan educational and social events.
