The Bachelor of Social Work program at Ball State University is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). This accreditation enables students with the BSW degree from Ball State University to sit for the state licensing exam in Indiana as well as in surrounding states, and to apply for advanced standing in a gradate social work program. Council on Social Work EducationThe Council on Social Work Education sets guidelines and policies which all accredited BSW programs must follow in order to maintain their status as an accredited school. In the Curriculum section of this handbook can be found the Council's Educational Policy Statement which the Department follows. CSWE reevaluates BSW programs on a regular basis. Ball State University was reaccredited recently until 2014.
