Department of Social Work College of Sciences and Humanities, Life's Challenges - Social Workers are there for you!
Advising: Freshman

Freshmen Advising

As a freshman, you will be assigned a university freshmen advisor, but don't make yourself a stranger.  You can drop in any time to get acquainted with the department and faculty.  You don't have to have a question or concern to stop by, but if you do, a faculty member can always take some time to talk to you and get to know you.  You can pick up information about the major and a generic academic plan in the social work office.

After you complete your freshman year (earned 30 semester hours in credit), you will be assigned a social work faculty member as your advisor.  A letter will be sent to you telling you who your advisor is and encouraging you to contact her or him.
