Institutional research involves the collection and analysis of data related to planning and decision making in higher education. This field is a unique combination of research methodology, data analysis, education policy, and applied research. Institutional researchers typically work in colleges and universities, state and federal government offices, and other organizations related to higher education.

Ball State's institutional research certificate program will provide you with the necessary foundation of skills and experiences needed to enter the field of institutional research. The 15 credit-hour sequence includes interdisciplinary graduate courses in institutional research, research methods, and statistics as well as an opportunity to gain practical experience.
