Former congressmen available to meet reporters, editors (3/24/2003)
MUNCIE, Ind. - Reporters and editors are invited to meet with two former U.S. Congressmen March 27 during their visit to Ball State University.

New Hampshire's William Zeliff, Jr. and Harold Volkmer of Missouri will be available at 3:30 p.m. in North Quad, room 202.

They are visiting Ball State March 26-29 as part of the Congress to Campus program. They will lead classes, conduct community forums, meet informally with students and faculty, and visit high schools and civic organizations.

The program sends pairs of former members of Congress - one Democrat and one Republican - to visit college campuses around the country.

Zeliff, a Republican, served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1991 to 1997, while Volkmer, a Democrat, was a member of Congress from 1977 to 1997.

For more information, contact Ball State's Department of Political Science, at (765) 285-8780.
