The three regional awards are the most won in a single year by Indiana Public Radio (IPR), a service of Ball State University. IPR is a Public Radio International affiliate and a National Public Radio member station.
The IPR news team, consisting of Robert Papper, Stan Sollars, Marcus Jackman and Brian Beaver, received the Overall Excellence Award. It was the fourth time in five years IPR has won the honor.
The use of sound award went to Beaver, senior news correspondent, for "Mother's Day Flash Flood," and a writing award went to Papper, news director, for "9-11 Legacy."
"It's quite an honor to be singled out for regional awards like these," Papper said. "I'm very proud of the work this group does."
