Understanding Van Routing Procedures:
ESC Van Routing - INCOLSA Wheels - Other Options
This van routing system provided by the IDOE, Education Service Centers and Shared Information Service Centers enables patrons to receive and return materials from the SIS centers via the Education Service Centers van routing system free of charge throughout the school year.
To use this van routing system, your school must be a member of an Education Service Center (ESC) that has a van system. If your school is a member of an ESC served by the SIS center from which you request materials, that SIS center will deliver the materials to you in a red nylon bag. You will return the materials, in this same bag, to the pick-up location of the ESC van service in your corporation. If you are unsure of this location, ask your local SIS center or ask your school’s principal, secretary, or administration office. If your school is not a member of the ESC's served by the SIS center from which you request materials, the SIS center will send you the materials, along with a red van bag, via US mail. You will return the materials to the SIS center that serves your ESC via the van system, and they will return them to the original SIS center.
Packaging Materials For ESC Van Routing:
Go to “Locations” to see a map of regions served by each of our centers.
The Wheels courier service delivers library materials quickly, efficiently, and inexpensively to all INCOLSA member libraries and their customers throughout the year. Through INCOLSA Wheels, SIS can deliver materials to a library or other member location near you for easier pick-up. As a patron of SIS, you may return your borrowed materials to an INCOLSA member location and ask that they be returned ATTN: Shared Information Services. Visit INCOLSA on the web at www.incolsa.net or contact SIS for a list of member locations as well as addresses and contacts for each location to insure that your materials are returned to the proper place so that we may receive them in a timely manner. Do not drop materials off at your local library under the assumption that they will know where the materials need to go! Make contact with the person listed in charge of INCOLSA materials; make sure that you are dropping them off at a member library; and make sure that the library knows that the materials are to be returned to the SIS center that serves your area via INCOLSA Wheels.
NOTE: If contacts listed here are unavailable, contact your local SIS coordinator.
If the you are with a school that is not a member school of an Education Service Center van system or if you are unable to travel to any of the INCOLSA member locations, then the SIS center will mail materials directly to you with the understanding that it is your responsibility to return the materials in person or via US Mail or other mailing service. Packages mailed should be insured.
