Virtual Private Network (VPN) is the technology that allows remote users to gain access to Private Enterprise Network resources over the Internet.
Not everyone needs a VPN to access Ball State, but you do if:
- You mount a disk share from your work computer on your home computer.
- You need to access restricted services.
- You use network protocols like NetBIOS to a host or service on campus.
Ball State's VPN is only supported from a home high speed internet connection, such as a cable modem or DSL. We do not support the VPN over a dial-up connection.
