Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Animated for VPN page

Virtual Private Network (VPN) is the technology that allows remote users to gain access to Private Enterprise Network resources over the Internet.
Not everyone needs a VPN to access Ball State, but you do if:

  • You mount a disk share from your work computer on your home computer.
  • You need to access restricted services.
  • You use network protocols like NetBIOS to a host or service on campus.

Ball State's VPN is only supported from a home high speed internet connection, such as a cable modem or DSL. We do not support the VPN over a dial-up connection.

If you meet the necessary criteria, then you can proceed with any of the links indicated above or just Download.
