• Graduate School deadline: December 1st
• Department deadline: January 1st 

Admission to the select MA, Ed.S., and Ph.D. graduate programs in school psychology is a two-step process consisting of a preliminary screening by the Graduate School and a final review by the Department of Educational Psychology's Advanced Graduate Studies Committee.

Step One

Apply to the Graduate School. You will find detailed instructions on how to apply about the Graduate School Web site. DON'T FORGET TO SEND YOUR FEE AND TRANSCRIPTS FROM ALL UNIVERSITIES ATTENDED.

Send your application and materials to arrive at the Graduate School least 4 weeks in advance of the department deadline of January 1 for full consideration.

GRE Scores

Official scores of the GRE General Test should be sent directly to Ball State University. If you use the code for Ball State (R1051), the results will go to the Graduate School. The Graduate School will forward a copy to the department. Please indicate that your major will be school psychology (3406) so that your results will not go to the wrong psychology department.

Step Two

Apply to the Department of Educational Psychology. Department materials must be received by January 1. The following materials are required:

• Completed Application Packet (PDF), including professional goals and self-assessment. You can download the Application Packet for request one by mail.
• Three letters of reference (forms are included in the Application Packet.)
• Official transcripts (sent directly from granting institutions to the department) from all undergraduate and graduate programs previously attended.
• Official results of the Graduate Record Examination General Test will be forwarded from the Graduate School. You must have taken the GRE within the last five years. Use the code for school psychology (3406) so the scores will not be sent to the wrong psychology department.
