Academic Support Services for Student Athletes
Coordinator of Academic Support Services for Student Athletes

Dr. Pam Riegle has worked in the Office of Academic Support Services for Student Athletes since November of 1996.  Before becoming the Coordinator in the summer of 2003, Dr. Riegle served as the Assistant Coordinator where she excelled in revising the study table program and working one-on-one with student athletes. 

Prior to working exclusively with athletes, Dr. Riegle was an instructor at Ball State University.  During her eight years as an instructor, Dr. Riegle taught courses in management, business, mathematics, accounting, economics, and human resources.  While teaching at Ball State Dr. Riegle earned numerous honors for her accomplishments, including the Outstanding University Teaching Professor award for the 1992-93 academic year. 

After receiving her B.S. and M.B.A. from Ball State, Dr. Riegle completed her formal education with a Doctoral degree in Educational Administration.  In addition to her work as a faculty member and administrator, Dr. Riegle has made several professional presentations at the local, regional, and national level.  Her educational research has been published in nationally recognized journals, and her service at Ball State has been widespread.  She is an active member of the community and gives her time to many local organizations and voluntary services.  Dr. Riegle and her husband, Tom, have two children.  Her son, Adam, is a Ball State alumnus, and her daughter, Lisa, is a current student at Ball State.

 

 

Assistant Coordinator of Academic Support Services for Student Athletes

Mr. James Johnson began his duties as Assistant Coordinator in July of 2003.  As the Assistant Coordinator, Mr. Johnson assists in the operation of the study table program, monitors individual student progress, and assists in conducting workshops devoted to study skills.

After receiving his B.A. in Psychology from Franklin College, Mr. Johnson earned his M.S. in Sport Psychology from Ball State.  While at Franklin, Mr. Johnson played baseball and football earning academic all-conference and all-conference honors.  He also aided Franklin College in the recruitment process of student athletes.

During his time as a student at Ball State, Mr. Johnson was a graduate assistant for the College of Applied Sciences and Technology, and completed extensive coursework in Counseling Psychology.  He has conducted research with exercise populations, parents and their children, and athletes.  In addition to coursework and research, Mr. Johnson implemented performance enhancement interventions with the Ball State Men's Baseball team.  He is a member of several professional organizations, and has served in numerous volunteer roles.  Mr. Johnson's wife, Michelle, is Director of Alumni Special Events at Ball State.

 

Ms. Tiffany Notarfrancisco


 

Ms. Tiffany Notarfrancisco is the Academic Counselor in Academic Support Services for Student Athletes.  As an academic counselor, Ms. Notarfrancisco aids in the academic development of student athletes by monitoring student athlete academic progress, and assisting with the study table program.

Originally from Mount Laurel, New Jersey, Ms. Notarfrancisco completed her Bachelors degree in Psychology and History from Ball State University.  While completing her undergraduate degree she competed as a varsity member of the Ball State Women's Track and Field Team.  Ms. Notarfrancisco went on to receive her Masters degree from Ball State University in Sport Administration.  Through out which she served as a graduate assistant with Academic Support Services for Student Athletes.  As a graduate assistant she was responsible for monitoring study tables, and monitoring the academic progress of student athletes.
