The Office of the Dean of Students coordinates the Critical Response Team (CIRT) which serves the university community by responding to isolated, yet serious, incidents that may affect individual Ball State students and the university community.
CIRT meets weekly to discuss incidents and allegations such as sexual assault, harassment, hazing, hate crime, physical or mental health incidents, residence hall safety and security violations, and potential threats to the health, safety, or security of the university community.
The team is composed of representatives from the Office of the Dean of Students, Department of Public Safety, Housing and Residence Life, Counseling Center, Student Organizations and Activities, Multicultural Center, Health Center, and University Communications.
The mission of the team is to ensure appropriate, confidential notification, communication, and action among university departments when incidents of a critical nature have occurred involving individual members of the BSU community.
For more information regarding CIRT, please contact the Office of the Dean of Students at (765) 285-1545.
