Diversity at BSU - General Information

lunch

As a public institution, Ball State University is a participant in the democratic vision of an educated and responsible citizenry.  We expect all members of the university community to act with integrity and civility; to acquire, discover, create, and apply knowledge responsibly; and to recognize, respect and welcome the diverse cultures, heritages, and perspectives within our institution and the larger community.  We recognize that we live and work in a global, diverse, and technological society, and we seek to serve, engage with, and learn from members of our community, the state, nation, and world.

The University has the right and the duty to establish reasonable standards of conduct for all persons on the campus in order to safeguard the educational process and to provide for the safety and welfare of its students, visitors, and University property.  The President of the University is given final responsibility and authority for the general administration of the University. This responsibility and authority may be delegated to officers of the University.  The Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students is responsible for the overall direction and leadership of student affairs units, programs, and activities, and plays a critical role in shaping the student experience at Ball State.
