Withdrawal from all Classes
Additional Withdrawal Information
The information that follows will be reviewed with you by staff in the Office of the Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs.  We provide it to you now to help you consider your options.

FINANCIAL AID:  Students who have any type of aid and are withdrawing from all classes must visit the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid, Lucina Hall, Room 245. Students who received any type of financial aid may be required to repay all or a portion of the financial aid they received for that academic period. Students will be notified by mail of any repayment that must be made to the University.  If you have financial aid (grants/loans), the withdrawal date will be forwarded to the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid for processing of federal return of funds.  Federal aid return of funds is day sensitive and is NOT consistent with university refund of tuition amounts!

STUDENT LOANS:  Students receiving loans while attending Ball State University must schedule an "exit" interview in order to comply with federal and institutional loan program requirements.  Loan repayment terms and other information must be exchanged before leaving campus.

Students with Federal Perkins Loans or Emergency Loans, please report to the Office of Bursar & Loan Administration - Loan Account Services, Lucina Hall.

Students with Federal Direct/Stafford Loans, please report to the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, Lucina Hall, Room 245.

VA EDUCATION BENEFITS:  Students receiving any Veterans Benefits must report their withdrawal to the Office of Veterans' Affairs, Lucina Hall, Room 136.

HOUSING:  Students who withdraw from the University are not eligible to remain in residence halls or in university apartments. In addition they are subject to the forfeiture of provisions as agreed to in the housing contract. Students in residence halls must vacate their rooms within 48 hours after withdrawal and must check out through their residence hall directors. Students in university apartments will be expected to vacate their apartments within 30 days of the date of withdrawal and must make proper arrangements for check out with Ball State University Apartments personnel. In any case, rental charges will continue until the student has checked out properly. Any exception to these policies must be made jointly by the Bursar and the Director of Housing & Residence Life or their designees. Students who plan to live in university housing in the future need to reapply and make another housing deposit when the housing contract is signed.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS:  It is the student's responsibility to keep accurate address information on file with the University.  Changes can be made directly online at www.bsu.edu/studentservices.

RE-ENROLLMENT:  Students who wish to reenter the University after more than one semester (not including summer) of not attending BSU must apply for re-enrollment.  Students cannot submit course request forms for registration prior to completing the re-enrollment application process.  The re-enrollment application is available from the Office of Admissions, Lucina Hall , and must be submitted by the established deadlines for each term.  Please call the Office of Admissions at 1-800-428-4278 or 765-285-8300 for specific dates and information.   Students who have attended other colleges since last attending Ball State University must also submit official transcripts to the Office of Admissions by the above deadlines.  New admission decisions will be made for re-enrolling transfer students.
