Q:  What if a person fails to make a disclosure or comply with conditions or restrictions set by the University on outside activities?

A:  Failure to disclose a real, perceived, or potential conflict of interest or conflict of commitment is a violation of university policy and the person in violation is subject to appropriate sanctions in accordance with the Ball State University  Faculty and Professional Personnel Handbook.   A failure to comply with conditions or restrictions pursuant to policy is also in violation and subject to appropriate university sanctions as well.  Additionally, if the violation involves a government-funded sponsored program or project, the University may be obligated under federal, state or local law to report any corrective action taken.
