Business Diversity Series: 2007 Matchmaker Connection attended by Purchasing and Facilities Management Personnel

Held on July 17^th in conjunction with the Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration, the 2007 Matchmaker Connection was attended by Purchasing Director Matt Stephenson, Purchasing Agent Gayla Brasher, and Project Architect Tanner Underwood. The event took place at the Indiana Government Center Conference Center, Indianapolis, and was hosted by the Indiana Department of Administration.

Designed to connect minority and women-owned businesses with prospective buyers, the event allowed for a series of 10 minute interviews. Prospective buyers at the event included state agencies, universities, casinos, and corporations. Purchasing Director Matt Stephenson commented that the Ball State University representatives met with approximately 30 minority and women-owned businesses formally and about another 20 casually during breaks and display times at the daylong event.

The event was sponsored by six of Indiana's seven state institutions of higher education; Ball State University, Indiana State University, Indiana University, Ivy Tech Community College, Purdue University, and University of Southern Indiana.
