You'll be making many new friends while at Ball State. Many of these friendships will last a lifetime. Look out for your friends and keep each other from harm. Keep these tips in mind to help your friends stay safe.
- Know the signs of alcohol poisoning: won't wake up, labored breathing, clammy skin, not responding to being pinched, prodded, or poked. If you see these signs, call 911 immediately.
- If a friend has had too much to drink, help them get home safely. Don't let your friend leave a party alone.
- If someone is a victim of a crime or is in danger, call 911. Report the crime, even if it may mean that the police will know you and your friends have been drinking underage. Your safety and the safety of others may depend on it.
- If you think a friend may have a problem with alcohol or drugs, encourage them to get help. Contact the Counseling Center at (765) 285-1736.
