Graduate Assistantships

The Department of Psychological Science has a limited number of Graduate Assistantships available for incoming students. Students awarded an assistantship receive a partial tuition remission (paying only certain fees, currently less than $900 per semester) and a stipend of approximately $7500 during the academic year, and in return they work 20 hours per week assisting faculty with teaching, research, and/or administrative duties.

How to apply for a departmental assistantship:

Simply check the assistantship box on the departmental application. The top students on our ranked admission list will be offered assistantships.  We'll let you know whether you will receive an assistantship when we contact you about admission.

Outside assistantships:

If you're admitted to one of our programs but are not offered an assistantship, we will provide information about other assistantship opportunities on campus.  Most students who want an assistantship are able to obtain one somewhere.  Throughout the university, assistantships have similar duties and benefits.
