Internship Opportunity:
Applications for internships with the Indiana State Legislature are now being accepted. The internships take place in Spring 2006 in the Indiana Statehouse. Interns participate in all aspects of the legislative process, from analyzing bill content to conducting research on pending legislation to attending to constituent casework.
Successful applicants are paid a stipend of $300 per week and are eligible to apply for Verizon Legislative Internship scholarships ($3000) and the Rick Gudal Public Service Scholarship ($1000).

Each year, several Ball State students have been selected for these opportunities. While a major or minor in a relevant discipline is probably helpful, there is no requirement to have any specific major.

Cross Cultural Opportunity
The Crossing Borders Outreach Team at the Counseling Center invites you to become a part of our peer pairing program (P3). Our goal is to pair incoming international students with current Ball State students who are willing to share information about the campus and the community and offer socialization experiences. In return, there is a chance to expand your cultural experience.
Becoming involved in the P3 program means: attending a one hour training/orientation meeting; contacting and meeting your new international partner on a regular basis during the semester; and participating in planned fun/social activities with your international partner.
Attached is a form that will provide us with the information to assist in pairing Ball State and international students. Your participation is voluntary as is the completion of this form. If you are interested, please fill out the attached form and return it to rlett@bsu.edu or rjgeelhoed@bsu.edu or copy it and bring it to the Counseling Center on the third floor of Lucina Hall (Room 320). If you have any questions or want more information about this opportunity, please contact Robyn Geelhoed or Robin Lett at 285-1736. You can also ask questions by responding to this email.
We hope to hear from you. We already have over 60 international students who want to participate. This opportunity has the potential to enrich your college experience and provide a valuable experience for an international student!
