Gene Frankland is Professor of Political Science and has been at Ball State University since 1972. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. His primary teaching areas are comparative politics (especially European politics) and environmental law and policy in the U.S. He has focused his research on green movements and political parties. Professor Frankland has received research grants from the German Academic Exchange Service to study in Germany in 1980, 1985, 1996, and 2002. He has also been a Visiting Fellow at Harris Manchester College, Oxford University, during spring 1996, and he has taught in overseas university programs in Spain, Germany, Austria, and Britain. Professor Frankland was Director of the Ball State University London Centre Program during spring, 1997. He is currently the Director of the European Studies Program and Undergraduate Advisor for political science majors.
