The Ball State Police Department is moving to its new headquarters at 200 N. McKinley Ave.
The new location is the former Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house, which moved in 2002 after membership dropped and the organization could no longer pay for the house. Renovations such as new floors, paint and electrical work were made to the house before the police department moved in.
The police department was first approached in June 2006 with the opportunity to change locations, said Gene Burton, director of public safety.
"It was a chance to upgrade to a better and newer facility," Burton said.
All staff members will be at the new location once the moving process is complete.
"It was a slower process than we had hoped, but it's getting done," Burton said.
Visitors to the new office should use the McKinley Avenue entrance. Additional parking is available in the parking garage located one block north of the new building and on McKinley Avenue.
