The Ed.D. in science education prepares those seeking to assume positions as science education leaders at the university level or in K-12 settings. The major consists of approximately equal components of education and science, with supporting work in additional science fields.

Application/Admission Requirements

• Completed Graduate School application
• Original transcripts of all previous graduate and undergraduate coursework.
• General/specific GRE scores
• Outstanding promise as a teacher-scholar in science or science education, as demonstrated by success in previous college studies, test scores, and experience
• International students must apply through the Rinker Center for International Programs.
• TOEFL results (if required)

Doctoral candidates also require :

• Completed Ed.D. Program application
• Master's degree in a science, science education, or related field from an accredited institution with a grade point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
• Three to five letters of recommendation

Graduate Assistantships

• Assistantships are available through individual departments and are awarded prior to the beginning of fall term.
• Assistantships carry a stipend, full tuition remission, and a waiver of out-of-state fees.  (Students are responsible for dedicated fees.)
• Students with full-time assistantships are required to work up to 20 hours per week.
