Public Health Entomology Lab Graduate Assistant Bridget Sullivan was awarded the Sandra L. Smith Symposium Award for her poster titled "Detection and Quantification of Borrelia lonstari in Lone Star (Amblyomma americanum)Ticks." The award recognizes four students (two undergraduate and two graduate) for their outstanding research or creative endeavors presented at the Student Symposium.  Awards consist of a certificate of recognition and $100. 

Four other Department of Physiology and Health Science graduate students participated in the event: Angela Baran ("Middle and High School Counselor's Experience with Stress Programs"), Ryan Erbe ("Spirituality and the Effect on Alcohol Use"), Josh Gibson ("Indiana School Administrator's Attitudes Toward Sexuality Education"), and Paulitha Pasala ("The Mechanism of Altered Gastrointestinal Motility in Diabetic Rats").
