Undergraduate Degrees: Physics
Our physics major graduates are knowledgeable in theory and skilled at solving practical problems. Physics majors may work in engineering positions such as product development involving computer hardware and software, environmental or industrial management. Early involvement in research, in which students work closely with faculty members, prepares our graduates for challenging careers as technical problem solvers. Other students elect to continue studying in graduate school in which they may pursue studies in atmospheric science, medicine, or engineering disciplines.

Undergraduate Degrees: Internships
Students in both of our undergraduate programs are encouraged in practical experiences and in professional development. We provide opportunities in their introductory courses to prepare resumes and conduct career exploration activities under the guidance of the Career Center. In addition, our departmental majors have a 3-hour capstone research component that is stisfied in one of the following ways: paid internships in industry or government laboratories; a senior Honors College thesis research project; a practical (not paid) experience in an institutional, industrial, or university research or development setting.
