We are in the process of conducting a periodic program review in the department.  We are putting together a self-study that will include input from alumni via the Alumni Survey.  Please take a few minutes to complete and submit the evaluation to permit us to provide evidence of the effectiveness of our program.  You may submit anonymously or you may identify yourself if you wish.  The evaluation form can be accessed online at inqsit.bsu.edu/inqsit/inqsit.cgi/robertson. Select the Alumni Survey to complete the digital web form.  The survey contributions are valuable to us in our program review and in providing current and prospective students with information about career possibilities.

Recent Department News – Changing Faces

We had three retirements in June 2007.  Drs. Dave Ober, Jim Watson and Jerry Thomas retired after a combined 110 years of service to Ball State.  Dr. Thom Robertson was elected to chair the department and assumed the role on July 1 of this year.  We have provided some information about the new emeriti faculty in a digital update to our department newsletter at www.bsu.edu/physics/newsletter/fall2007.  E-mail addresses are available for these faculty members in that publication.  Please join us in wishing them well in their futures.

Alumni Web Page Opportunity

Jeff Bower and Michelle Wallace Bower stopped in for a visit a few weeks ago.  They were thoughtful enough to bring a box of Concannon's donuts with them.  During their visit they suggested that it would be nice to create a place in the alumni section of our department web page to post alumni submitted pictures, personal and career information updates and even digital videos.  We will do that and ask those interested in contributing to send your contributions to our Media Design Specialist and web page designer Julie Allison at jallison@bsu.edu.
