Research Interests
Aging & Diabetes: Insulin receptor mechanisms, glucose uptake & exercise
Strength Training: Hormonal influences

CURRENT RESEARCH

1. We are examining the relationship between intra-muscular lipids and insulin resistance as it applies to diabetic subjects.
2. We are examining the correlation between lactatic acid threshold and substrate utilization in young recreationally trained subjects.
3. We are testing the practicality of using hand held lactic acid meters for estimating exercise performance during resistance training.

FUTURE RESEARCH
An examination of whole body vibration training for diabetic subjects. The object being to determine if this form of exercise is safe and benificial for diabetic subjects.
