The mission of the Adapted Physical Education program is to provide students at the undergraduate and graduate level with the most enriching learning experiences possible by combining theory with lecture and practical coursework.
Students at the undergraduate level can earn a license in Adapted Physical Education which is recognized by the Indiana State Department of Education.
The graduate program seeks to provide students with leadership responsibilities supported by coursework and research experiences with special populations. Students at both levels of study will receive extensive contact hours in the public schools and on-campus programs working with students with disabilities.
Students studying in Exercise Science can minor in Adapted Physical Activity.
Located on the second floor of the Human Performance Building (HP 213), the program is staffed by full-time faculty and supported by a resource room which contains current information for the field of Adapted Physical Education and Adapted Activity.
