A philosophy degree is more practical than most people believe. Philosophy is an appropriate major or minor for students preparing for jobs that require a liberal arts education and skills in critical thinking, concept analysis, interpersonal communication, and decision making.

Philosophy is excellent preparation for careers in law, public service, government agencies, writing, and literary criticism, as well as for religion oriented jobs.
