Religious Studies
WHEN SHOULD I ENROLL IN, AND COMPLETE COURSES TOWARDS, THE RELIGIOUS STUDIES MAJOR OR MINOR?
If you intend to graduate in four years, you should have enrolled and begun coursework in the major by the time you have completed 30 hours (beginning of sophomore status).

If you intend to graduate in four years, you should have enrolled and begun coursework in minor no later than completing 60 hours (end of sophomore year).

With the exception of the new core courses RELST 160, "Introduction to Religion and Culture," most upper-level courses in Religious Studies (as well as in Philosophy and other departments in which students may take electives) are offered only every second year.  This fact necessitates that students begin their degrees in a timely fashion and plan their programs with care, anticipating spreading their course work over 2 ½- 3 years.  Faculty advisors will facilitate your planning, but it is your responsibility as a student to begin a degree program with sufficient time to complete coursework by your graduation date.
