Determination of which partnerships are to be consummated will be made in consideration of the resources that are available to the University and the school at the time. The goal is to find the most satisfying "match" between available University and school resources so as to insure the project's success.  It is possible that equally worthy proposals may be scheduled for implementation in different years in order to take advantage of educational or human resources available.

Rubric for Evaluation of Partnership Proposals

A. All items of assent should be checked "yes" and the proposal signed and dated, where necessary, by appropriate persons.

  1. Less than 75% of items of assent are checked "yes" and one or more required signatures are missing.
  2. 75 to 90% of assent items are checked "yes" and assent is secured with dated signatures from all parties.
  3. More than 90% of assent items are checked "yes" and assent is secured with dated signatures from all parties.
  4. All items of assent are checked "yes" and assent is secured with dated signatures from all parties.

B. For each of the four goals in the proposal, (# 5) generate three scores, as follows.  Accompany scores with questions or explanations when possible.

   The Goal:

  1. The goal is vague and non-specific, only loosely linked to PDS functions and essential attributes and/or has outcomes which cannot easily be observed and assessed.
  2. The goal is somewhat clear and specific, is marginally connected with PDS functions and essential attributes, and has outcomes which can only minimally be observed and assessed.
  3. The goal is generally clear and specific, is reasonably well connected with PDS functions and essential attributes, and has outcomes which can be observed and assessed with moderate accuracy.
  4. The goal is very clearly stated, directly linked with PDS functions and essential attributes, and has outcomes which can easily be observed and assessed.


   The description of resources to be committed (use same rubric for school and for university):

  1. The indicated resources are not clearly described, not clearly related to the goals of the project, not sufficient to support the project, and/or cannot reasonably be expected of the unit.
  2. The indicated resources are vaguely described, only marginally related to the goals of the project, marginally sufficient to support the project, and/or may not reasonably be expected of the unit.
  3. The indicated resources are generally well described, generally well related to the goals of the project, generally sufficient to support the project, might reasonably be expected of the unit.
  4. The indicated resources clearly described, specifically related to the goals of the project, more than sufficient to support the project, and/or may reasonably be expected of the unit.

   Compute an average score for each goal.  Round to the nearest tenth.


C. Support for the partnership (# 8):

  1. The proposal shows evidence of very little involvement, participation, and support from the entire staff.
  2. The proposal shows evidence of marginal involvement, participation, and support from the entire staff.
  3. The proposal shows evidence of significant involvement, participation, and support from the entire staff.
  4. The proposal shows evidence of total involvement, participation, and support from the entire staff.

F. Submit completed evaluation to the Institute Director.  Bring a copy of your evaluation to the review conference.
