- Employee elects an annual amount to contribute to the Medical or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts. This amount is then deducted as pre-tax over a predetermined number of pays during the plan year.
- Bi-Weekly Staff/Service Employees have their monthly premium deducted from the first check of the month for 20 pays per plan year.
- Bi-Weekly Staff/Service 9 month Employees have their monthly bi-weekly premiums for Flexible Spending Accounts deducted from each of their regular (not including summer) pay periods for 17 pays.
- Exempt/Faculty/Professional Fiscal Year Employees have monthly premiums deducted from each monthly check.
- Faculty/Professional Academic Year Employees have monthly premiums deducted from each regular monthly check from August through May. First-year Faculty/Professional Academic Year Employees will have premiums deducted over 9 pays, beginning September and running through May.
