What is Employee Self Serve? 

Employee Self Serve (ESS) is a convenient, secure, and user-friendly resource accessed online through the BSU-ESS portal.  It provides all employees online access to personal information contained on the Payroll/Human Resource file and is a useful tool to assist in keeping your records up to date. 

When is ESS available?

Available at noon Sunday through 7 p.m. Monday.

Tuesday through Saturday, 4:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Periodically the system may be unavailable for updates.

What you need to use ESS:

• BSU ID (omit first zero) or social security number
• A distinct PIN number 

Once in ESS, you may use the navigation bar or site map to access any of the employee service features available in Employee Self Serve.  You may access and/or make changes to your personal information: 

• Address
• Phone
• Marital Status
• Personal data
• Name
• PIN
• PIN question and answer
• Emergency contact
• Dependents
  

You may check your benefit information:

• Dependent coverage

You may check your payroll information:

• View and print your check stubs
• Direct deposit information
• Withholding
• Available paid time off

• Employment history
• Leave balances
