Student Permits

Students are eligible to purchase any of the following permits. A "student" is defined as anyone who is paying fees and receiving credit from Ball State University or Burris Laboratory School.

Note: The football stadium is the overflow lot for all zones.


Restricted Permit
Restricted Permit
Any employee or student not living in a residence hall may purchase this permit.

Where to Park
Authorizes parking in an assigned red restricted lot. The assigned lot number is indicated on the decal. Restricted lots are reserved from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Employees who purchase a restricted permits are also allowed to park in yellow faculty/staff lots.

Students who purchase restricted permits are also allowed to park commuter lots. 

There is no overnight parking in any parking garages between 3:30 a.m. and 5 a.m., Monday through Friday. Vehicles parked overnight will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.

Residence Hall Permit
Residence Hall Permit
Any student living in a residence hall (excluding freshmen) may purchase this permit.

Where to Park
Authorizes parking in the designated blue residence hall lot only. The lot number is indicated on the decal. These permits are sold on a limited basis per lot. The lot is reserved 24 hours a day from 7 p.m. Sunday through 5 p.m. Friday. Vehicles assigned to H7 will be required to move to the stadium lot on days when home basketball games are scheduled Monday through Friday, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Freshmen residing in residence halls are NOT eligible for this permit.

$75 per year


Commuter Permit
Any student not living in a residence hall may purchase this permit.

Where to Park
Authorizes parking in all green commuter lots from 3:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. After 5:00 p.m., parking is permitted in the yellow faculty/staff lots. Parking is also permitted in the red restricted lots after 7:00 p.m.

There is no overnight parking in any parking garage between 3:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. Vehicles parked overnight will be ticketed and towed at the owner's/operator's expense.

$75 per year


Stadium Permit
Any student may purchase this permit.

Where to Park
Authorizes parking at the football stadium. Also, from 5 p.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Sunday, this permit may park in any campus parking lot per posted times. Vehicles must be removed from the stadium lot by 9 p.m. on the evening before a home football game and may return two hours after the completion of the game.

Parking in the baseball overflow lot during the spring baseball season is prohibited. Violators will be ticketed and towed at the owner's/operator's expense.

Freshman residing in residence halls are eligible only for stadium permits only.

Motorcycle Permit
Motorcycle Permit
Any employee or student may purchase this permit.

Where to Park
Motorcycles and motor scooters required to be licensed by the state of Indiana must be registered. Parking is permitted in a regular marked parking space in any yellow faculty/staff or green commuter lot. Parking is not permitted on sidewalks, at bike racks, or in areas posted "no parking."

Night Pass
Night Pass Permit
Any employee or student may purchase this permit.

Where to Park
Authorizes parking in the red R2 or R5 lot. This permit allows parking after 4:45 p.m. in the assigned red lot.

Cost
$40 per semester
