The following services are available for students to get around on campus, in Muncie, and traveling outside of Muncie.
Ball State Shuttle
The campus shuttle provides transportation on the Ball State campus. The shuttle runs to and from the football stadium, University Apartments, and along McKinley Avenue (to south of the Student Center). Availability is planned for every 5-10 minutes at designated points. The shuttle service is offered during the academic year (August-May) Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. until midnight.;
Friday, 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sundays 3 p.m. until midnight.
A lift equipped shuttle is available for students with disabilities and follows the operational hours outlined above. The shuttle will pick students up and drop off at any campus location. The Disabled Student Development office establishes the list of students eligible for this service.
Internet Ride Board
Students may use the Internet Rideboard to search for one-time-only rides, or to set up a regular schedule for carpooling. Students should read the tips given on personal safety when setting up a ride arrangement. Ball State is not responsible for mishaps that occur during trips arranged using the Rideboard. Use this service at your own risk.
MITS
MITS is the local bus transportation for the city of Muncie. Students ride free and routes are available to and from campus and major points of interest. MITS Plus offers a shuttle for persons with disabilities. For more information about MITS services and routes, call 289-6487 or visit their web site at www.mitsbus.org.
Greyhound Bus Line
Greyhound provides limited bus service in and out of Muncie. For the most up-to-date schedule, please contact 1-800-231-2222. The Greyhound bus uses the MITS station in downtown Muncie.
Travel Dimensions
By appointment, Travel Dimensions will assist students with their travel needs. Travel Dimensions offers transportation to and from the Indianapolis airport. Contact Travel Dimensions at (765) 284-4144.
