SmallerOTLA provides a number of consultation services for BSU faculty in order to forward the University's mission of teaching excellence. Please contact our office to inquire about utilizing any of these services.
Teaching Consultations
Whether you are having problems with some aspect of your teaching or just want to bounce a new teaching idea off someone, the OTLA staff is available for consultation. We are happy to talk through a variety of teaching issues with you, provide feedback on your ideas, and ask the questions that will help you find your way to a solution. Our staff has years of teaching experience in higher education, but if another faculty member is a more appropriate consultant, we'll make the arrangements to bring that person to the project. All consultations are confidential; our goal is to help you improve as a teacher, and we know that can feel risky as you try out new techniques and approaches.
Instructional Design
Both Gary Pavlechko and Greg Siering started their BSU careers as instructional designers for distance education programs, so we are happy to help you design instructional modules for both on-campus and online courses. We have excellent working relationships with the Teleplex production personnel, so we can help you in every step of your project--from identifying learning objectives to media production.
