What We Do The Service committee is dedicated to not only serving the Muncie community, but providing others on campus a chance to serve as well. Working with the Koins for Kids foundation, we execute several service projects throughout the year to accomplish this. An example of a past project was a RA vs. Hall Directors basketball game and this year we will be expanding this project to include more campus leaders such as RHA. We also complete service projects, such as a Cardinal Greenway Cleanup, to help give back here in Muncie. Can U Build It? Each spring Residence Halls will compete in a food drive. Halls collect canned and non-perishable food items and then construct something out of them based on the theme for that year. An example would be “City” themed, then a hall would construct a building or skyline out of their collected items. Each hall will be judged and the winning hall wins a prize! This years theme is Ball State Buildings, so start collecting those cans and be creative. Cardinal Greenway Cleanup Throughout the semester a group of students will go out to the NRHH sponsored stretch of the Cardinal Greenway. While we are there, we collect garbage and other un-beautifying things around the path. This is just one way that NRHH serves the Muncie Community. Koins 4 Kids Sponsorship Every year NRHH, with the help of the residence halls, raises money to donate to Make A Wish foundation. This initiate is done through individual fundraisers done by the halls, philanthropy events done at the Leadership Conferences, and NRHH fundraisers. At the end of the spring semester we will once again hold a Basketball Tournament to sponsor a final fundraising activity for the year.
