The Natural Resources Club and the Natural Resources and Environmental Management Alumni Society have teamed up to offer NREM students enhanced professional development and career information in the fields of natural resource and environmental science. By teaming up with a member of NREM Alumni Society, the student will be able to exchange ideas about the profession, learn of conferences and meetings, and find out about internships and job postings. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity by completing the on-line registration below.
Student duties and responsibilities:
-
The student agrees to communicate with mentor on a regular basis (monthly or more often), but should exercise judgment if it appears that the contact is too frequent.
-
The primary purpose of communication is to exchange professional information. Examples would be to ask the mentor to provide a perspective on issues that are being discussed in classes, provide references for technical subjects, etc.
-
An evaluation will be administered at the end of the semester to find out if the student wishes to continue in the program and if he/she would like to keep the same mentor or be given a new one.
-
If the student decides to terminate the program, he/she should notify the mentor and Dr. Hugh Brown (hbrown@bsu.edu).
