Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management
Congratulations Figolah Family
Bridger was born on August 23, 2008.   Amanda is a graduate student in the department, finishing her thesis.  Recently, she and her husband moved to Bloomington where Amanda is now an Earth/Space science teacher.  Both Amanda and Tom are dedicated environmental stewards and are sure to raise Bridger to be the same.  Wondering about his name?  Bridger's namesake was James Bridger (and Bridger Teton Mountains), who blazed Bridger's Pass through the northern Rockies from Wyoming to Montana (now Interstate 80), was the first non-native man to view the Great Salt Lake, and who exceeded in a number of other mountain man activities such as hunting and trapping.    The department would like to extend our congratulations to Tom and Amanda and welcome Bridger!
