Scholarship fund honors Fuelling (11/17/1999)

Clinton Fuelling

A scholarship fund has been established in memory of computer science department chair Clinton P. Fuelling.

Fuelling died Nov. 15 following an extended illness. Services are planned Nov. 20 at Muncie’s Lutheran Church of the Cross followed by burial in Decatur, Ind.

Fuelling was a Ball State alumnus, earning a bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1960. He earned a master’s degree from the University of Chicago and a doctorate from American University.

Before joining the faculty in 1973 he was a senior analyst for General Research Corp. in McLean, Va. and a mathematician for the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington. He served in the Air Force, reaching the rank of captain.

Memorials can be made to the Clinton P. Fuelling Scholarship Fund in care of the Ball State University Foundation. Those making donations should include a note that the gift is for the Fuelling Fund.

Memorials also may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Cross Endowment fund.
