MUNCIE, Ind - Several Ball State University
staff members were honored Thursday night at the 1999 Staff Recognition and Retirement
Awards Program in Cardinal Hall of the L. A. Pittenger Student Center.
Five Meritorious Service Awards were given to staff employees from each vice
presidential area for their contribution to the university. Winners were:
- Academic Affairs: Patricia Armstrong, secretary to deans, College of Communication, Information, and Media.
- Business Affairs: Amy L. Berg, assistant director, Telephone and Postal Services.
- Office of the President: Anita L. Kelsey, recording secretary, Board of Trustees, and secretary to executive assistant to the president.
- Student Affairs: Sheila S. Grove, secretary, Disabled Student Development.
- University Advancement: Timothy Underhill, coordinator of electronic media, University Relations.
C. Sue Conaway, business manager, Office of the Dean, College of Fine Arts, was awarded the A. J. Morton Award. This award is given to a staff member who has been nominated by his or her peers to be recognized for outstanding service to the university.
Philann Lewis, secretary, Office of Vice President of Student Affairs, is the I.D.E.A.S award winner. I.D.E.A.S is an acronym for Improving Daily Efficiency and Service. The award is recognizes initiative and ingenuity among university employees.
