The Anastasios and Sophia Koumoulides Memorial Scholarship will be given to undergraduate students who plan to minor in ancient studies, maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and demonstrate financial need.
As part of the scholarship, recipients should complete classes about the ancient history of Greece, Rome and Byzantine civilizations.
The scholarship may also be used to provide students an opportunity to study ancient history at the Harris Manchester College at the University of Oxford or the International Summer Program at the University of Cambridge.
The scholarship was created by John A. Koumoulides, a Ball State history professor, and supporters of the university's Greek Studies Program in memory of his parents.
