MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Midwest Entrepreneurial Education Center, an outreach division of the Entrepreneurship Program at Ball State University, was recently honored for its program in improving quality and excellence in the field.
The center received the State of Indiana Quality Improvement Award by the Indiana Lieutenant Governor’s office. The award, which recognizes companies that have achieved internal benchmarks, is administered by the Indiana Business Modernization and Technology Corporation.
"This award reflects the tremendous impact that the Midwest Entrepreneurial Education Center has throughout the state of Indiana," said Neil Palomba, dean of the Ball State College of Business. "Our college is proud of this center’s leadership role in entrepreneurial efforts for the state."
Ball State acquired the center in 1997, moving it from Indianapolis to the College of Business under the direction of Donald F. Kuratko, director of the Entrepreneurship Program and the Stoops Distinguished Professor of Business.
Its mission is to help Midwest entrepreneurs build growing, profitable businesses by offering practical, high-quality educational programs and activities, while serving as the focal point for encouraging the further development of an entrepreneurial economy in the Midwest.
