Honorable mention, news and features -- John Huffer
For the seventh time in eight years, John Huffer, coordinator of photographic services for Ball State, won a first-place award from the association. He placed first in sports for his photo (shown here at top) of a Ball State Cardinal football player making a catch in a game against Central Michigan.
Senior photographer Michael Hickey won first place in news and features for his photo (middle) of a campus vigil held Sept. 11.
Huffer also picked up an honorable mention in the news and feature category for a photo taken at a Ball State women's swim team competition.
The UPAA represents more than 200 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada. Member photographers are concerned with the practice of photography as it relates to the higher education setting.
