Nondas K. and Gerald E. Loudenback created the fund in 1999 before their deaths.
Nondas K. Loundenback was a graduate of Ball State Teachers College, receiving a degree in elementary education in 1932. Gerald E. Loudenback was a sales manager for the Railway Express Co. After their retirements, the couple lived on a farm west of Anderson.
"Although Nondas and Gerald lived all over the Midwest while he worked for the railroad company, she never forgot the time she spent at Ball State," said Donald Long, a family representative and an Anderson resident.
"After they retired to the farm, she went to many events on campus," he said. "She had very tender feelings for Ball State. And, because they had no children of their own she was happy to be able to help out future students."
