The Ball State University Museum of Art will feature Japan Culture Day at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 17.
The presentation will begin with an overview of Japan's 1590 war with Korea and its influence on Japanese art. At 3:30 p.m., there will be a traditional Japanese tea ceremony and presentation on its significance in Japanese culture, followed by a tasting of Japanese food.
The presentation will coincide with its Japanese Art from the Floating World and Amida Buddha exhibits. The first exhibit comprises paintings in the escapist "floating-world" style from the early 20th century and also features an Edo-period suit of samurai armor. The second features a cast bronze Buddha statue from 1680.
